Exended Care

Early Care 7:30 AM – 9 AM
Late Care 4:15 PM – 6 PM
Lenape through Cherokee and Preschoolers can come early or stay late to participate in supervised activities and free play to either get going for the day or to wind down after a hard day of fun and play.

C.I.T.’s are welcome to stay and assist counselors with extended care and Teen Campers can finish off their day in the Teen Center shooting pool, playing Xbox or surfing at the internet café.

Special Needs

Do you have a child who has special needs that wants to go to camp? We can help. Our program supports children that have physical disabilities, disabilities related to autism, minor behavioral problems, ADHD, and other developmental needs. Campers with special needs will be placed in the age-appropriate day camp, but must meet the following guidelines:

1. Any child that currently has in-class support at school must have support at camp. You can contact your school support program for information about obtaining summer support.

2. The child’s needs or behavior issues must not pose any threat to other campers, staff or themselves.

Teen Camps

Teens have the opportunity to participate in a variety of camps.

TEEN TRIP CAMP
9 AM - 4 PM • 12 to 15 Years
It’s back! Your teen will love to visit a different place each day as they travel to Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh counties. Trips are Monday through Thursday, with Team Building, Character Development and Games on Friday at the YMCA. Teens will also have use of the Teen Center before and after trips.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING
9 AM - 4 PM • 13 to 15 Years
The C.I.T. program is for teenagers that enjoy working with children and acting as a role model for others. C.I.T.’s may specify whether they would like to assist with Day Camp or in Sports Camp. Daily schedule will consist of lesson planning, group activities, and group role-playing as well as working with camp groups.

The  C.I.T.'s first week of training consists of a mandatory instruction on professionalism, activity planning, child abuse prevention, first aid and other child care skills. C.I.T.’s will have an active role in event planning for Camp Takoda. C.I.T.’s must attend either week 1, 3, or 5 for training, plus three additional weeks.

Prospective C.I.T.’s must register and submit an application. Applications are available at www.cbfymca.org/camp.htm.

Contact Kevin Crail for details.
